Dominican Republic begins construction of baseball stadium in Consuelo

Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz has officially launched the construction of a modern municipal baseball stadium in the municipality of Consuelo, San Pedro de Macorís. The project represents an investment of 26 million pesos and covers an area of approximately 11,476.20 square meters.

The new infrastructure is designed to support the athletic development of children and youth, providing a professional space to hone baseball skills. The facility will include a playing zone, dugouts, restrooms for players and visitors, bleachers, and outdoor areas. Technical features will include an irrigation system, French drainage, sidewalks, electrical installations, and a septic system.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister Cruz emphasized that the project fulfills a long-standing community request and urged the responsible construction company to maintain continuous progress until completion. Local officials, including Mayor Juan Padilla and Provincial Governor Yovanis Baltasar, expressed support for the initiative, noting its importance for local talent development.
