Dominican Republic celebrates cultural icon Raúl Grisanty and MLB All‑Star MVPs

Raúl Grisanty, born in 1951 in Manzanillo, Montecristi, turned a promising baseball career into a five‑decade legacy as a singer, TV host and entertainer, recording over 60 songs and leading popular television shows such as Caribe Show and Domingo Millonario.

Dominican players have also left a strong mark on Major League Baseball’s All‑Star Game, earning the MVP award eight times. Winners include Juan Marichal (1965), Julio Franco (1990), Pedro Martínez (1999), Alfonso Soriano (2004), Miguel Tejada (2005), Melky Cabrera (2012), Robinson Canó (2017) and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (2021).
