Dominican Republic celebrates Gastronomy Month with nationwide restaurant event

The Dominican Republic is celebrating Gastronomy Month this September with a nationwide culinary initiative. The ninth edition of SDQ Gastronomic and Restaurant Week features a record more than 200 participating restaurants across five major destinations.

The event follows a weekly schedule: Punta Cana (September 1-6), Santiago (September 7-13), Santo Domingo (September 14-20), and Puerto Plata and Jarabacoa (September 21-27). Organized by ASONAHORES and ADERES, the program utilizes a digital passport via QR codes to provide access to special menus.

In the private sector, new contemporary Italian concepts are also expanding in the country. Francesco Curcio and Filippo Saccani have introduced Curcio and Felice, brands focused on high-quality, fast-casual Italian dining. Curcio offers pizza by the slice with a focus on crispy dough and fresh ingredients, with locations including the Zona Colonial and Piantini.
