Dominican Republic Navy Ship Joins US 250th Independence Festivities
The Dominican Republic’s training vessel BE‑01 “Almirante Juan Bautista Cambiaso” took part in the international SAIL 4th 250 fleet assembled in New York to commemorate the United States’ 250th year of independence, underscoring naval diplomacy and the long‑standing friendship between the two nations.
The Instituto Cultural Domínico‑Americano marked the anniversary with a “Freedom Rocks” concert, featuring classic American rock from the 1980s‑90s, performances of both national anthems, a showcase of U.S. cuisine and a fireworks display, highlighting cultural exchange.
Across the Dominican Republic, thousands of residents and visiting U.S. tourists celebrated July 4 with music, barbecues, park gatherings and a night‑time fireworks show, reinforcing the shared observance of the historic milestone.
