Dominican Republic completes sanitation works in Herrera

President Luis Abinader and Fellito Suberví, director of the Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewerage Corporation (CAASD), have inaugurated the sanitation and drainage works for the El Indio and Buenos Aires ravines in Herrera, Santo Domingo Oeste. The project involved an investment of RD$188.6 million and covers 850 linear meters.

The intervention aims to improve safety and health for more than 25,000 residents who previously faced frequent flooding and unsanitary conditions. Beyond drainage, the project includes urban improvements such as streets, sidewalks, lighting, basketball courts, children's playgrounds, and a central park.

This delivery brings the total amount of sanitized ravines by CAASD to 20 kilometers, part of a larger plan to intervene in 63 kilometers of ravines. Upcoming projects include the 150-meter Flor de Lis ravine and a 1.9-kilometer stretch in Ciudad Agraria, expected to be delivered in approximately one month.
