Dominican Republic fuel price cuts gasoline diesel LPG subsidy

The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs announced price reductions for regular gasoline, regular diesel and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for the week of 11–17 July 2026. Regular gasoline and diesel will each fall RD$3.00 per gallon, while LPG will be reduced by RD$2.00 per gallon, bringing total cuts to RD$8.00 per gallon over two consecutive weeks.

Premium gasoline, optimal diesel and natural gas prices remain unchanged. Avtur and kerosene prices rise by RD$2.02 and RD$2.40 per gallon respectively. The government allocated a RD$523.7 million subsidy for this week, having spent RD$21.323 billion on fuel subsidies so far this year. The exchange rate used for pricing is RD$59.36 per US $.

The measures aim to ease inflationary pressure on vulnerable households, as regular fuels and LPG are widely used for transport and home energy.
