Dominican Republic delivers 50 garbage trucks to municipalities

President Luis Abinader, through the Ministry of Administrative Affairs of the Presidency (MAPRE), has delivered 50 garbage compactor trucks to various municipalities and municipal districts in the Dominican Republic. The initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of local governments to ensure more efficient waste collection, specifically targeting communities where waste accumulation poses risks to public health, the environment, and quality of life.

During a ceremony held at the National Palace, Administrative Minister Andrés Bautista García urged mayors and district directors to maintain the equipment properly to ensure longevity. The program responds to a high demand for resources, with the government receiving approximately 240 requests for compactor trucks between 2024 and 2026.
