Dominican Republic expands social aid with 'Madres que Sostienen' program and community health outreach
The Dominican Republic’s social assistance agency DASAC held a "Madres que Sostienen" event in Paraíso, Barahona, distributing aid to hundreds of women and highlighting the government’s commitment under President Luis Abinader. The ceremony was led by DASAC executive director Dr. Edgar Augusto Féliz Arbona and attended by provincial and municipal officials.
In a separate initiative, the Dirección General de Desarrollo de la Comunidad (DGDC) partnered with the Dominican Army, the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa) and the National Health Service (SNS) to deliver a comprehensive health assistance day in San Juan de la Maguana. Residents received medical consultations, laboratory tests, imaging, medicines, food rations, mattresses and enrollment in SeNaSa, with senior military and health officials overseeing the operation.
