Dominican Republic exports reach record US$10.56 billion in 2026
Dominican Republic exports reached a record US$10,563.2 million during the first eight months of 2026, marking an 11.4% year-on-year increase, according to Prodominicana.
While national figures show growth, four provinces—Elías Piña, Bahoruco, San José de Ocoa, and Samaná—recorded no exports so far this year. This is an increase in non-exporting regions compared to 2025, when only Bahoruco and Samaná had no export activity.
Sánchez Ramírez led provincial exports with US$1,893 million, followed by Santo Domingo (US$1,875 million), San Cristóbal (US$1,628 million), and Santiago (US$1,213 million). Sánchez Ramírez saw a significant year-on-year growth of 40.8%.
The United States remains the primary export destination with US$5,025.2 million. Other significant markets include Canada, which saw exports rise to US$1,282.1 million, and Switzerland, which experienced nearly nine-fold growth compared to the previous year, reaching US$325.9 million.
