Dominican Republic Financial Summit 2026 to Gather Economists and Executives
The Instituto de Finanzas de Santo Domingo (IFI) and Aula Hispana will host the second edition of the Financial Summit 2026 on October 15 at the Hotel Real Intercontinental in Santo Domingo. The conference expects around 300 participants, including chief financial officers, corporate treasurers, consultants, and other financial professionals. Speakers will cover macro‑economic and geopolitical contexts, corporate finance, capital markets and technological transformation of the sector.
On July 18, the Dominican Republic observes National Economist Day, a holiday established in 1981 to honor the contributions of economists to the nation’s development. The commemoration recalls historic figures such as Benigno Filomeno de Rojas, José Cordero Michel and Bernardo Vega, and highlights pioneering women like Francisca Angélica Romero‑Bilkey, the first Dominican economist to graduate from Harvard. Economists continue to play key roles in shaping monetary, fiscal and development policies.
Both events underscore the growing prominence of the Dominican Republic’s economic community and its influence on national and regional financial discourse.
