Health authorities in the Cibao Noroeste region of the Dominican Republic have responded to a potential strike called by the Valverde branch of the Dominican Medical College (CMD). Dr. Ramón Rodríguez, Director of the Regional Health Service, reaffirmed a commitment to dialogue to resolve professional demands.
Rodríguez highlighted several improvements to the public health network, including the authorization of a new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the José Francisco Peña Gómez Maternal and Child Regional Hospital. He also noted ongoing efforts to strengthen hospitals in Mao, Esperanza, and Laguna Salada through the addition of personnel, equipment, and expanded service hours.
