Atlantic low-pressure systems under watch for potential cyclone development

Meteorological authorities are monitoring multiple areas of low pressure in the Atlantic Ocean with potential for cyclonic development. Two specific systems are under surveillance, with one showing a 40% probability and the other a 20% probability of developing into tropical cyclones within the next seven days. Currently, these systems do not pose an immediate threat to Mexico or the Yucatán Peninsula.

In the Dominican Republic, the Instituto Dominicano de Meteorología (Indomet) reports that a tropical wave and a trough are bringing increased humidity, leading to rain, thunderstorms, and wind gusts across various provinces, including Santo Domingo, La Altagracia, and Samaná. Additionally, Saharan dust is affecting the region, causing hazy skies and high temperatures ranging between 33°C and 35°C.

The National Hurricane Center is also tracking tropical waves moving toward the west, with one system showing a 40% chance of development. While it is too early to determine definitive trajectories for potential impacts on Cuba or the Lesser Antilles, authorities remain vigilant as the Atlantic enters a period of increased seasonal activity.
