Dominican Republic hosts XII International Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism

The Sociedad de Arquitectos Dominicanos (SARD) held the XII International Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism of the Dominican Republic (BIAURD 2024). The event took place at the Museo de Arte Moderno in Santo Domingo and the Centro León in Santiago.

Under the theme ‘EUTOPÍAS: Construyendo Ideas para el Futuro’, the biennial featured projects from over 75 national and international architects, alongside 45 student proposals from Dominican and foreign universities. The program included conferences, workshops, and panels focusing on sustainability, urban design technology, and modern urbanism challenges.

Minister of Culture Milagros Germán and SARD President Adis Ozuna participated in the opening. Ozuna noted that the event marks a return to the biennial after a hiatus of more than a decade.
