Dominican Republic inaugurates new military forts in Jimaní

The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Defense and the Border Development Foundation (FUNDEFRO) have inaugurated new military installations along the border with Haiti. During a recent visit to the communities of Macasías, Elías Piña, and Jimaní, officials inspected productive and military settlements.

In Jimaní, two new military forts, referred to as ‘Tetraedros’, have been completed, with work beginning on a third. These structures were designed by Shearly Investments based on a concept by businessman Juan Vicini Lluberes. The fortifications are strategically positioned in the border region and feature a triangular design intended to provide structural strength and stability.
