Dominican Republic increases agricultural machinery operator wages by 25%

The National Salary Committee (CNS) has approved a 25% increase in the minimum wage for heavy machinery operators within the agricultural sector in the Dominican Republic. Under Resolution No. 11/2026, monthly salaries will rise from RD$22,000 to RD$27,500.

Labor Minister Eddy Olivares Ortega stated that the decision resulted from a tripartite agreement between the State, employers, and workers. This consensus is part of a broader social dialogue aimed at improving labor conditions and supporting productive sectors.

In addition to the base salary increase, the resolution updates the rates for various agricultural tasks by 25%. These tasks include plowing, sowing, weeding, fertilizing, and harvesting. Specific new rates include RD$23.70 per task for plowing and RD$16.88 per bag for the collection of rice and corn.
