Dominican Republic iQtek Foundation teams with Congressional ICT Commission to expand youth STEM training

The Fundación iQtek and the Permanent Commission on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) of the Dominican Republic’s Chamber of Deputies signed a collaboration agreement aimed at strengthening STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education for young people. The partnership will promote digital skills, innovation and employability, especially for youth from vulnerable communities, through joint orientation, training, conferences, workshops, hackathons, STEM fairs and innovation contests. Key initiatives include expanding access to iQ Academy, the foundation’s online learning platform, and supporting the second call for the Talento Tek 2026 program, which seeks to identify and train high‑potential young technologists. Fundación iQtek president Glenda Borbón said the agreement will broaden opportunities for youth to acquire high‑impact tech competencies, while ICT Commission chair Vicente Sánchez highlighted the need for coordinated institutional effort to drive the country’s digital transformation.
