Dominican Republic judicial candidates and institutional proposals announced

In the Dominican Republic, several judicial and institutional developments are underway. Prosecutor Josué Cedeño has launched his candidacy for the Council of the Public Ministry. His platform focuses on institutional, labor, and salary improvements, including the creation of a property insurance policy for members of the Public Ministry to address pending needs within the institution.

Separately, the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) has received formal proposals from two organizations recommending Félix Portes as a candidate for judge of the Supreme Court of Justice. The proposals were submitted by the Círculo de Locutores Dominicanos and Hogar Crea Dominicano, Inc. Both entities requested that the CNM objectively evaluate Portes's professional trajectory, citing his integrity and experience.
