Dominican Republic launches 2025-2028 National Statistical Plan
The National Statistics Office (ONE) of the Dominican Republic has officially launched the National Statistical Plan (PEN) 2025-2028. This serves as the country’s third roadmap to guide the production, coordination, and strengthening of official statistics over the next four years.
The plan establishes which data the state must produce, which entities are responsible for generation, and the quality standards required to ensure public policies are based on verifiable evidence. Its development follows the update of the National Pluriannual Public Sector Plan (PNPSP) to ensure alignment between priorities and indicators.
A comprehensive mapping of the country’s statistical information demand identified 880 priority indicators across several national planning instruments, including the 2030 National Development Strategy and the Sustainable Development Goals. The diagnostic revealed that currently, only 47% of these indicators can be measured with existing statistical offerings, while 20% face significant information limitations in sectors such as culture, construction, social security, and infrastructure.
