Dominican Republic Ministry of Defense graduates urban tactical specialists

The Dominican Republic Ministry of Defense (MIDE) held a graduation ceremony for the 43rd Promotion of the Special Tactical Operations Course in Urbanized Areas, known as ‘Monteros’. The graduates are fourth-year cadets from the ‘Batalla de Las Carreras’ Military Academy of the Dominican Republic Army.

The training program is designed to equip future officers with the skills necessary to operate in complex and high-risk urban environments, emphasizing discipline, coordination, and decision-making. Following the completion of their studies at the Military Academy on November 29, these cadets will be promoted to the rank of second lieutenant.

The ceremony was led by Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, alongside Army Commander Major General Jimmy Arias Grullón and Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Andrés Torres, commander of the Special Counter-Terrorism Command Unit (UCT-MIDE).
