Dominican Republic Ministry of Education launches 99 STEAM clubs

The Regional 15 Directorate of the Dominican Republic's Ministry of Education (Minerd) has officially inaugurated 99 STEAM clubs across various educational centers within its jurisdiction. The initiative aims to strengthen instruction in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics to foster innovation in the classroom.

These interactive educational spaces are designed to stimulate curiosity, experimentation, and problem-solving through the integration of different knowledge areas. The program seeks to develop critical thinking, creativity, and soft skills among students, preparing them to address community challenges.

Eddy Chávez Placencio, Director of Regional 15, stated that the clubs represent an opportunity to nurture the talent of Dominican students, noting that the classrooms hold the future scientists, engineers, and researchers of the nation. The initiative received support from President Luis Abinader and Minister of Education Luis Miguel De Camps.
