Dominican Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosts transparency event
The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) hosted a commemorative event for Right to Know Week on October 12, 2026. The gathering brought together information access officers from various public institutions and officials from the General Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity (DIGEIG).
The event aimed to strengthen inter-institutional collaboration and facilitate the exchange of experiences regarding access to information, open government, and public integrity. Key topics discussed included the evolution of information access as a fundamental right, specialized reporting channels, the OECD Integrity Study of the Dominican Republic, and the Public Integrity Strategy.
Additionally, the program highlighted IAxTransparencia, an artificial intelligence tool applied to transparency. Dignitaries in attendance included Berenice Barinas, Executive Director of DIGEIG; Elizabeth Díaz, Director of Transparency and Open Government; and Carlos Rosado, Director of Ethics.
