Dominican Republic Ministry of Women launches “Niñas & Niños por la Igualdad” summer camp for 103 children

The Ministry of Women of the Dominican Republic, through its Human Resources Directorate and in coordination with the Center for Promotion of Integral Adolescent Health (CPSIA), organized a five‑day summer camp called “Niñas & Niños por la Igualdad” from 13 to 17 July 2026 in Santo Domingo. The camp hosted 103 girls, boys and adolescents aged 7 to 15, the children of ministry employees.

Participants were divided into age groups and took part in educational, cultural, sports and values‑building activities. Workshops included jewelry making, painting, creative games and personal‑defence classes. The program also featured a visit to the National Aquarium and a presentation by the National Firefighters Corps, as well as talks on menstrual health and teenage pregnancy prevention for the older group. The initiative aims to promote gender equality, respect and community participation while supporting the work‑life balance of public‑sector families.
