Dominican Republic naturalizes 182 new citizens from 30 countries

Faride Raful, the Minister of Interior and Police, led the swearing-in ceremony for 182 new Dominican citizens. The individuals represent more than 30 different countries and have completed the formal naturalization process.

Minister Raful emphasized that granting nationality is a serious state decision involving both rights and duties. She noted that the Ministry of Interior and Police has modernized the process by implementing digitized files, interviews, and citizenship examinations to ensure compliance with established procedures.

Dayana Díaz, the Director of Naturalization, highlighted the human element of the process, stating that officials work with people's lives rather than just paperwork. Representing the new citizens, academic and entrepreneur Arturo de las Heras expressed his gratitude to the country, stating, “Republica Dominicana es mi patria” (Dominican Republic is my homeland).
