The Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA) awarded the first certification in Artificial Intelligence applied to police sciences to senior officials of the Dominican Republic National Police. The five‑week training program, known as “Inteligencia Artificial Aplicada a las Ciencias Policiales,” covered AI‑driven data analysis, predictive analytics, task automation, and process optimization for operational and investigative work.

The ceremony in Santo Domingo was led by ITLA rector Jimmy Rosario Bernard and Police Director General Major General Andrés Modesto Cruz Cruz, who highlighted the role of emerging technologies in strengthening institutional capabilities and improving citizen security. Both officials emphasized that the training aims to modernize the police force, enhance decision‑making based on data, and increase efficiency in crime prevention and investigation.
