Dominican Republic Police present educational reforms in Costa Rica

The Dominican Republic National Police participated in the IX Meeting of Directors of Police Education of the Police Educational Internationalization Network (RINEP) held in Costa Rica. Representatives from 12 countries gathered to exchange best practices aimed at enhancing police professionalization and educational quality across Ibero-America.

General Juan Hilario Guzmán Badía, rector of the Higher Police Education Institute (IPES), presented the progress of the Dominican Republic’s new training system. Key developments include the creation of mobile units designed to expand training opportunities. Guzmán Badía emphasized that the institutional reform must prioritize the quality of education over the quantity of agents trained to ensure sustainable results.

The meeting also focused on establishing a common roadmap for the 2027-2031 period, aiming to drive educational innovation and strengthen cooperation between academic police institutions.
