Dominican Republic police respond to dispute arrests and fatal stabbing

In San Francisco de Macorís, the National Police arrested five individuals, including a 17-year-old, following a dispute at a fast-food establishment on Libertad Avenue. During the intervention, authorities seized a 9mm Star pistol from 46-year-old Carlos Antonio Monegro Mendoza. While the weapon had a permit, investigators are looking into allegations that it was used to intimidate others during the argument.

In Santo Domingo Oeste, a 40-year-old man identified as Daniel Santana was killed in the Barrio Nuevo sector following a dispute during a domino game at a car wash. Santana died from multiple stab wounds. Police are currently searching for three suspects: Jefferson Díaz, known as ‘Papito’; Wilmer, known as ‘La Percha’; and an individual identified as Isaac. The incident has prompted local residents to demand increased police patrolling due to rising rates of robbery and armed assaults in the area.
