The Dominican Republic’s National Police reported a series of operations across several provinces. In Montecristi, Santo Domingo, La Vega and Barahona officers arrested multiple men on homicide, illegal‑weapon and robbery charges, including a Haitian suspect linked to a knife killing in Las Matas de Santa Cruz.

In a separate bust, agents captured three Colombian nationals accused of running a multi‑million‑dollar fraud scheme that promised false loans and investments, seizing US$12,000 in cash.

Police continue to probe the homicide of 56‑year‑old merchant Francisco Antonio Reyes Plasencia in Los Alcarrizos, recovering a stolen Mazda and questioning several individuals, including minors, while examining alleged sexual‑exploitation links.

The Ministry of Interior and Police released the 2025 Statistical Bulletin on Citizen Security, consolidating national data on homicides, property crimes, traffic deaths and other indicators.

The Directorate National de Control de Drogas (DNCD) and the Public Ministry conducted 288 raids, arresting more than 3,560 people and confiscating over 914 kg of narcotics, alongside dozens of firearms and vehicles.
