Dominican Republic police seize thousands of grams of drugs in multi‑city raids

Dominican authorities carried out a series of coordinated drug‑trafficking operations in several cities. In Santiago, agents of the Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) and the Ministerio Público executed three raids, arresting 11 people and confiscating 2,381 g of cocaine, 55 g of marijuana and 32 g of crack, along with weapons, cash and equipment.

In the resort municipality of Verón‑Punta Cana, multiple interdictions resulted in the arrest of 5 to 10 suspects in separate actions, seizing more than 1,400 g of cocaine, marijuana and crack, as well as vehicles, phones, balances and cash.

Police in Barahona detained several individuals and occupied about 550 g of narcotics, illicit alcoholic drinks, cigarettes and other contraband.

Separately, the Central Intelligence Directorate (DINTEL) in Santo Domingo Norte seized four packages of marijuana, four of a white powder believed to be cocaine, more than five million Dominican pesos in cash, firearms and other equipment, while detaining three people.
