Dominican Republic promotes hydrocarbon potential in Houston

The Dominican Republic presented its hydrocarbon investment opportunities to international industry representatives at the International Meeting on Applied Geosciences and Energy (Image 2026) in Houston, Texas.

Represented by the Ministry of Energy and Mines through the Vice Ministry of Hydrocarbons, the country showcased its progress in expanding knowledge of petroleum resources. Officials Nisael Dirocié, Director of Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production, and Gilsa Pérez, Head of Hydrocarbon Promotion, detailed the prospective potential of the nation's sedimentary basins for oil and gas exploration and production projects.

The event, held at the George R. Brown Convention Center, served as a platform for the Dominican Republic to engage with specialized companies, government institutions, and energy industry leaders to promote international investment in its energy sector.
