Lorena Ochoa visits Dominican Republic to promote sports tourism
Lorena Ochoa, the former world number one golfer, visited the Dominican Republic to promote sports tourism and share her professional experience. During her visit, she participated in a golf clinic for special guests at the iconic Teeth of the Dog course in Casa de Campo, La Romana.
Dominican Minister of Tourism David Collado highlighted Ochoa’s presence as a strategic move to bolster the country’s reputation as a premier destination for luxury and sports tourism. Ochoa, a former LPGA leader with 37 official titles, also delivered a conference titled ‘The Winning Mindset’ to local entrepreneurs, business owners, and representatives of the sports sector.
The initiative aims to diversify the national tourism offering by combining traditional beach destinations with high-end sporting events, targeting travelers with significant purchasing power.
