Santo Domingo recorded the highest number of intentional homicides with 219 cases, while San Cristóbal led in road traffic fatalities. Suicide rates were highest in Santiago and Santo Domingo.

A study published in JAMA Health Forum involving over 463,000 adolescents indicates that cannabis consumption during teenage years is associated with a 2.19 times higher risk of developing psychotic disorders and approximately double the risk of bipolar disorder. Experts emphasize that addressing these psychological and social factors is essential for long-term crime prevention and public safety.
