Dominican Republic schedules 38 cruise stops for September

The Taíno Bay tourist port in Puerto Plata received the Celebrity Beyond cruise ship, carrying 3,224 passengers and 1,444 crew members, arriving from Miami. This arrival marks the beginning of a busy month for the Dominican Republic's maritime sector.

The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) has scheduled 38 cruise ship stops across various ports and anchorages throughout September. The month's operations will involve seven major international cruise lines, including Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Virgin Voyages, and Princess Cruises.

Key scheduled stops include Puerto Plata, La Romana, and Cabo Rojo. Notable upcoming arrivals include the Regal Princess, which is slated to visit Puerto Plata on September 14 and 28. Alejandro Campos, executive director of Apordom, stated that the authority aims to consolidate the Dominican Republic as a regional Caribbean cruise hub by strengthening terminals and attracting new lines.
