Bolivian police in Potosí intensified vehicle checks but reported no illegal vehicle seizures. Ecuadorian officers seized marijuana and cocaine at road posts in Nueva Coneta, Sumalao and other checkpoints. In Peru, the National Police detained two members of the “Los p anas del Rímac” gang, recovering homemade explosives, extortion letters and weapons, while a separate operation in Piura ordered nine months of preventive detention for alleged migrant‑smuggling suspects. A Peruvian anti‑corruption sweep led to the arrest of five police officers accused of diverting contraband whisky. In the Dominican Republic, authorities captured a micro‑trafficker known as “Neno,” seizing over three kilograms of crack, cocaine and related equipment. Colombian police captured a homicide suspect in Ipiales. Chilean police in Maipú detained four individuals in a drug‑selling house and seized firearms, cash and illicit alcohol. These coordinated actions illustrate a regional crackdown on narcotics, illegal arms and related crimes.
