Dominican Republic Social Cabinet coordinates aid for vulnerable populations

The Social Policy Coordination Cabinet in the Dominican Republic has convened representatives from seven institutions to improve the coordination of social services for vulnerable populations. Led by coordinator Geanilda Vásquez, the initiative aims to identify overlapping programs and territorial coverage to ensure a more integrated approach to social protection.

Participating entities included the General Directorate of Border Development (DGDF), the Presidential Commission for Neighborhood Development Support (CPADB), the National Council for the Elderly (CONAPE), the National Council for Children and Adolescents (CONANI), the National Council for Disability (CONADIS), the Directorate of Social Assistance and Community Feeding (DASAC), and the Supérate Social Development Directorate.

A primary focus of the meeting was the need to enhance information exchange and monitoring mechanisms, particularly in communities where multiple institutional services converge. The goal is to create a shared vision that allows these entities to complement their efforts rather than duplicating services.
