Dominican Republic strengthens aviation security and emergency response
The Dominican Republic is strengthening its national security and emergency response capabilities through new personnel and inter-institutional coordination.
The Specialized Body for Airport Security and Civil Aviation (CESAC) has operationally incorporated 181 new members into its service. These personnel have completed training in aviation security (AVSEC) procedures, including passenger and cargo inspection, access control, and the prevention of unlawful interference. This reinforcement aims to align national airport security with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
Simultaneously, the Dominican Air Force (FARD) and the Emergency Operations Center (COE) have met to enhance coordination for disaster prevention and response. The meeting focused on improving preparedness for natural phenomena such as hurricanes, floods, and earthquakes. The Air Force remains prepared to provide aerial mobility, search and rescue, and logistical assistance during national emergencies.
