AERODOM investment works to be monitored by new oversight commission

The Dominican Republic's Airport Commission has officially presented a new Commission of Overseers tasked with monitoring the Extraordinary Investment Plan being executed by AERODOM. The commission will supervise and audit construction works at the Las Américas International Airport (AILA) and other airports under AERODOM's administration.

Presided over by Ricardo Canales, the commission includes Sicilio Espinal Espina, rector of PUCMM; Persio Maldonado, director of El Nuevo Diario; and business figures Julio Suero Marranzini and Cirse Almanzar. The group is responsible for providing periodic reports to the Airport Commission regarding the physical and financial progress of these projects, as well as offering formal observations and recommendations.

The oversight body was established via Resolution 6989 on August 6, 2026. During the official presentation, members were provided with necessary documentation and background information to facilitate their roles in fiscalization and follow-up.
