Dominican Republic TSE suspends PHD convention
The Dominican Republic’s Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) has ordered the provisional suspension of the VII Ordinary Convention of the Dominican Humanist Party (PHD). The convention, scheduled for September 20, 2026, was intended to elect new internal authorities for the organization.
The court issued this ruling as a precautionary measure pending a decision on an ongoing challenge (expediente TSE-01-0032-2026). The magistrates determined that the suspension was necessary due to the likelihood of the invoked rights and the risk of imminent, irreparable damage that could hinder the effectiveness of a final ruling. All acts related to the execution and materialization of the assembly are suspended until further notice.
