Dominican Republic U15 baseball team prepares for World Cup

The Dominican Republic U15 national baseball team has intensified its training preparations for the upcoming U15 World Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 25 to October 4 in Mérida and Cancún, Mexico.

The 20-player roster is being coached by former Major League Baseball catcher Welington Castillo. Castillo and his technical staff are focusing on physical conditioning, offensive and defensive skills, and strategic development. Castillo noted the high level of competitiveness and versatility among the players, stating that their willingness to play multiple positions provides more tactical options for the team.

The squad was selected following an extensive evaluation process involving players from various programs supported by the Dominican Baseball Federation (FEDOM), including academies such as MVP-Miguelón, Ozuna Factory, and the International Prospect League. The selection criteria included physical condition, pitching ability, discipline, and adaptability.
