Dominican Republic U‑17 women’s volleyball defeats South Korea in Lima

The Dominican Republic U‑17 women’s volleyball team beat South Korea 3‑2 in a tightly contested match at an invitational quadrangular tournament in Lima, Peru. The sets ended 21‑25, 25‑14, 25‑22, 21‑25 and 15‑13.

Offensive firepower came from Rayni Mondesí and Leandry Almonte, while libero Jazlyn Peña anchored the defense. Coach Priscila Rivera praised the squad’s character, noting the win is crucial ahead of the U‑17 World Championship that starts on 6 August in Chile, where Korea will be a direct rival.

The victory adds momentum to the Dominican side’s preparation for the upcoming world event.
