PLD launches nationwide mobilization in Dominican Republic

The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) has launched its third national phase of concentrated efforts, mobilizing members across 260 municipalities to strengthen party structures and engage with citizens. Party leaders, including Secretary General Johnny Pujols, Zoraima Cuello, and Temístocles Montás, are conducting door-to-door visits to build support for the 2028 elections.

During these mobilizations, PLD officials have criticized the current government, specifically citing issues such as frequent power outages, the high cost of living, insecurity, and corruption. The party aims to position itself as a solution to these domestic challenges while recruiting new members to regain political power.

Additionally, the PLD's Organizing Commission for the Presidential Aspirants Consultation (CONAP-2026) has released the official ballot order for the upcoming internal consultation scheduled for October 18. The order, determined by a recent draw, lists Francisco Javier García, Luis de León, Manfred Mata, Gonzalo Castillo, and Francisco Domínguez Brito as the numbered candidates.
