Dominican Republic's Banking Regulator Launches Historical Archive

The Superintendencia de Bancos (SB) of the Dominican Republic introduced a digital micro‑portal called Cronología SB. The platform preserves and makes publicly available the institution’s historical memory and the evolution of the country’s financial system over nearly eight decades. It integrates historical information, statistical data on banking since 1947, press publications, and reference documents, and offers interactive visualization tools for analysis. A digital archive allows users to download reports, specialized publications, regulations and other materials, while a Gallery of Superintendents showcases the careers of the agency’s leaders. The launch was led by SB superintendent Alejandro Fernández W., who emphasized the project’s role in transparency and knowledge access, and included participation from writer José Alcántara Almánzar, Central Bank cultural sub‑director Hipólito Batista, researcher Riamny María Méndez and other officials.
