Dominican Republic's Bienes Nacionales raises over RD$57 million in public auction
The Dirección General de Bienes Nacionales reported revenue of RD$57,305,000 from the second public auction of the year. The auction, held in the auditorium of the Instituto Policial de Educación Superior (IPES), offered 123 cases and 61 lots that included transferable vehicles, vehicle bodies, furniture, motorcycles for parts and scrap metal. Participants paid a RD$2,000 admission fee and registered with the department’s Subastas office. Subdirector General José Moya Mejía presided over the event on behalf of the agency’s director and the honorary executive director of the Consejo Estatal del Azúcar, Dr. Rafael Burgos Gómez. Successful bidders have five business days to settle payment by certified check to the Tesoro Nacional and an additional five days to collect the goods from the agency’s depots on Carretera Mella and MERCA Santo Domingo.
