Dominican Republic's ETED Schedules Transmission Line Maintenance and Navy Partnership

The Empresa de Transmisión Eléctrica Dominicana (ETED) announced that on Friday it will carry out corrective maintenance on the 69 kV Cruce de Cabral–Duvergé transmission line from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The work will require a temporary power interruption in the municipality of Jimaní (Independencia) and will also affect circuits serving Neyba and Las Damas (Bahoruco), Salinas (Barahona) and the Khoury Industrial plant. ETED said the outage is necessary to reinforce the technical condition of the infrastructure, improve network resilience and support the country’s energy transition.

In a related development, ETED and the Dominican Republic’s Navy signed a Framework Cooperation Agreement. The pact, signed by ETED executive vice‑president Alfonso Rodríguez Tejada and Navy vice‑admiral Bienvenido Crisóstomo Martínez, establishes joint technical assistance, logistics, security and personnel support to protect the national electric transmission system. Both parties will create a joint monitoring committee to implement the agreement, which aims to make the electricity supply safer and more reliable for Dominican citizens.
