Thousands of young supporters gathered at Club San Carlos in Santo Domingo on July 5‑6, 2026, for the presentation of the national youth structure of the Fuerza del Pueblo (FP) party. The venue overflowed, prompting a minute of silence for a youth killed by police in Santo Domingo Oeste.

Former president and FP leader Leonel Fernández attended alongside Lenin Campos, the party's youth secretary and the Dominican Republic's youngest mayor, and senator Omar Fernández. Campos praised the political engagement of the youth, linked the turnout to the birthday of former president Juan Bosch, and warned of limited public resources for education and development. He announced that the new youth structure will travel across the country to promote the party’s platform ahead of the 2028 elections.
