Dominican Republic's INFOTEP reports 1.4 million men trained since 2020

The National Institute of Technical and Professional Training (INFOTEP) in the Dominican Republic presented its latest results to President Luis Abinader, emphasizing that linking technical education to the labour market is a cornerstone for the country's economic and social development. Director Maira Morla Pineda highlighted a broad national consultation that gathered input from students, teachers, businesses, civil society and overseas Dominicans, underscoring a shared vision for an education system that is “connected to work.”

INFOTEP disclosed that more than 1.4 million men have completed its training programmes between August 2020 and December 2025 – 1,076,102 men up to the end of 2024 and an additional 375,967 in 2025. The institute says the technical‑professional training improves employability, supports family wellbeing and contributes to the nation's productive sector.

The director reaffirmed INFOTEP’s commitment to expand inclusive, market‑relevant programmes so that more Dominicans can develop skills that match the demands of the national economy.
