Dominican Rheumatology Society honors Dr. Martín Jiménez Michell

The Dominican Rheumatology Society has issued a posthumous tribute to Dr. Martín Jiménez Michell during the VIII Dominican Congress of Rheumatology. He was awarded the “Huellas que construyeron la Reumatología Dominicana” (Footprints that built Dominican Rheumatology) recognition for his leadership and contributions to the field.

Dr. Jiménez Michell, who served as president of the society from 1999 to 2001, also had a significant academic career at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), where he served as a director and professor. The award was accepted by his son, gynecologist Dr. Diederích Jiménez Gomez, and his mother, Nemesis Esmirna Gómez, at a ceremony held in Santiago de los Caballeros.
