Dominican Senate honors cultural leader Freddy Ginebra
The Dominican Senate presented a recognition to cultural manager, writer and communicator Freddy Danilo Ginebra for his five‑decade contribution to national art and culture. Senator Antonio Taveras Guzmán handed the award at Casa de Teatro, noting that the Senate “not only recognises a cultural manager; it recognises a way to build the nation through art, solidarity and hope.” The unanimous resolution praised Ginebra’s role in fostering talent and strengthening Dominican identity.
The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) named architect and urban planner Andrés Navarro García professor of the year for the 2025‑2026 academic cycle at its Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The honor was presented in the university auditorium, where Navarro reflected, “Since I began teaching at UASD in 1993, I have believed there is no better investment for a country than training its professionals.” The award highlighted his long‑standing teaching, his contributions to urban planning, and his previous service as minister of education and foreign affairs.
