Dominican sports federations announce new development programs

The Dominican Boxing Federation (FEDOBOXA) has announced that its elite and youth national tournaments will take place simultaneously from November 25 to 29. The events will be held at the Doctor Fidel Mejía sports center in Sabana Grande de Boyá, Monte Plata province.

The tournaments are expected to feature prominent national boxers, including members of the Dominican national team and athletes who participated in the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. Officials stated the competitions serve as a platform for high-performance talent and the development of the sport.

Separately, the Dominican Taekwondo Federation has launched two strategic programs aimed at talent identification and national expansion. One program focuses on scouting cadet and youth categories through weekend sessions at the Taekwondo Pavilion.

The second initiative, the Taekwondo Development and Massification Program, aims to establish new schools and clubs across all provinces. The federation intends to use the sport as a tool for social impact and community integration throughout the country.
