Dominican textile and footwear industries back INABIE director

Several Dominican textile and footwear industry associations have expressed support for Adolfo Pérez, the executive director of INABIE, following recent progress in school supply tenders. The associations, including ASITEC, APIMETEX, ADITEX, and ADOCALZA, praised the implementation of more technical criteria to verify supplier capacity, specifically noting the use of Social Security (TSS) data to validate production capabilities.

The groups also highlighted the oversight provided by the General Directorate of Public Procurement (DGCP) as a factor in increasing transparency and efficiency. These industry entities emphasized that domestic manufacturers possess the necessary quality and volume to meet INABIE requirements, advocating for policies that prioritize national production over imports to support local employment and the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
