Dominican Transport Agency Head Milton Morrison Rejects $1 Million Bribe
Milton Morrison, the executive director of the Instituto Nacional de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (INTRANT), presented the agency’s 2024‑2026 institutional report and highlighted reforms such as ISO quality standards, anti‑bribery certification, expanded audits and the recovery of the national traffic‑light network.
During the presentation he disclosed that he had been offered a cash bribe of up to one million US dollars, together with a proposal of three million Dominican pesos per month for five years, to influence licensing contracts and the traffic‑light modernization project. Morrison said he refused the offers, describing them as attacks on the agency’s integrity. He reported the case to the Contraloría General de la República and the Ministerio Público for investigation.
